Holidays in Surrey

If you’ve never been to Surrey then you’re going to love it, and if you’ve been before then we’re sure you already do. It’s handily close to London (just 16 miles away to be precise) yet forms the perfect escape from city life. It’s a place for strolling around stately homes, dining in restaurants that attract foodies throughout the year, and discovering sleepy villages off the beaten track.

Surrey’s very much a county of contrasts, and that means that no two days on a Surrey holiday are ever quite the same. One day could find you wandering heath land and wooded valleys, and the next you could be seeking thrills at Mercedes Benz World. You’ll have the choice between speeding your way around the handling circuits or venturing onto an off-road course – it’s an adrenaline-packed day for the whole family.

If that isn’t exciting enough, head to everyone’s favourite Surrey day out – Thorpe Park. Home to hair raising greats such as Nemesis Inferno, Stealth and Saw, we can’t think of a much better day out for families with teenagers in tow during a break in the county, and there’s a ride to suit every age so don’t worry if you have younger children.

Now for something more tranquil…Denbies Wine Estate is one of the county’s most beautiful spots, and it happens to produce some of the finest wines in the country. Their vineyard experience tours showcase everything there is to see throughout the estate, and for something different we’d recommend the vine and grape picking experience.

Now, you can’t visit Surrey and not take in at least one of its many stately homes and National Trust treasures, and Hatchlands Park in Guildford is every inch the grand Georgian mansion. With an impressive 400 acre estate to its name the house is the perfect adventure for all ages.

For a break in the country, but with easy access to the bright lights of our capital, book a break in a Surrey holiday cottage today.
