Holidays in Cambridgeshire

Escape to Cambridgeshire and take some time out to rediscover life’s simple pleasures in a beautiful setting. From lazy days spent picnicking in the countryside to indulging in serious shopping thanks to dozens of boutique-lined streets, no two days in Cambridgeshire are ever the same.

Famed for its breathtaking scenery, South Cambridgeshire is perfect for those of you who are happiest on two wheels, as cycle trails criss-cross the landscape and beckon adventurers. In fact, as you’ll have 350 square miles of countryside to take your pick from you’ll be spoilt for choice. If you prefer to just get behind the wheel and see where you end up, you’ll come across no end of friendly little villages and even friendlier pubs along the way, and there’s nothing quite like a plate of home-cooked food and a pint of something refreshing to make you feel at home.

Discover one of the UK’s most elegant cities with a visit to Cambridge, and if you want to start your time there by getting to know more about the city then you’ll have your pick of walking tours to make sure you don’t miss any of its most famous sights.

Sunny afternoons see punts gliding their way along the River Cam while visitors wander its banks and ponder which gallery to look at next, and there’s a laidback feel to the city that makes it the perfect choice for a break from it all. The University of Cambridge is home to one of the city’s most popular attractions – the Fitzwilliam Museum. Free to enter, its collection of art and antiques is one of the finest in the world.

Nearby Anglesey Abbey is owned by the National Trust, and this Jacobean-style house has a working water mill and gardens, and since you can still browse Lord Fairhaven’s collection of antiquities inside the house, this is an all-weather attraction too.

Take a trip down the river Cam and then head home to your Cambridgeshire cottage for a well earned rest!
