Newport

Once you’ve settled on which of our Newport holiday cottages you’re going to stay in, turn your attention to activity planning in this vibrant central town on the Isle of Wight. In fact, the Guardian once said of Newport that ‘its quaint alleys hide jewels’ so let the treasure hunt begin!

It’s natural to start your day trips at Osborne House in East Cowes. It was here that Queen Victoria retreated from the hustle and bustle of court life within the walls of its Italian Renaissance splendour designed by her husband, Prince Albert.

With royalty ringing in your ears work off some energy in Robin Hill Country Park near Newport where lush countryside and theme park adrenalin combine for a fun-filled day for all. Check out Jungle Heights and bounce through suspended trampoline nets in the treetops and don’t miss the toboggan ride – it’s a family favourite!

Back in town, draw from a hat whether you’ll visit Sandown, Shanklin or Ventnor. Three coastal towns with calm waters for bathing. For golden sands choose Sandown or Shanklin. Ventnor is a pebbly beach!

Whatever you get up to, start the day from one of our welcoming Newport holiday homes.
