Eype

Lesser known than its larger neighbours at Lyme Bay and Bridport, Eype (pronounced ‘eep’) is a beautiful village of thatched cottages, with its own stunning (and quiet) beach. A holiday cottage in Eype will be a world away from the crowds, but will still offer everything that you might want for a holiday in this glorious part of Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.

Fossil-hunting, bird-watching, rambling along the Coast Path, or just enjoying sunny days on the sand and gravel beach; a holiday here will take you back to the gentler pursuits of simpler days. The beach is open to dogs all year-round, so choose a dog-friendly cottage and your best friend can come too.

The climb down to the beach is steep – reward yourself after the climb back up with a pit stop at the village shop or tea room. Then retire to your Eype holiday home and enjoy the coastal views.
