Glenridding, meaning “glen overgrown with bracken” is a small village at the south end of Ullswater, near the foot of the Kirkstone Pass. The area is popular with walkers, with routes of varying difficulty – and popular with climbers who want to take on England’s third highest mountain, Helvellyn, and the surrounding peaks.
