Padstow

Holiday cottages in Padstow fit the bill for a holiday in Cornwall where sea, sand and Cornish fayre collide. Also known affectionately as Padstein, the endearingly pretty fishing village of Padstow in North Cornwall is home to renowned chef Rick Stein. Suitably famous for his knack with fish and seafood, you can sample the dishes of his many eateries in the village or if you’re self-catering in Padstow buy fresh from the market and take some home for tea.

It’s a typically pretty Cornish harbourside dotted with fishermens cottages, pleasure boats and ferries across to Rock. On its doorstep is the beach at Bedruthen Steps where, legend has it, giant Bedruthen once trod and left his weighty mark. Splitting its appeal between young families and adrenaline junkies is Constantine Bay with its rock pools and renowned surf. Days out from Padstow include exploring the Camel Trail and wildlife as far as Wadebridge, and a visit to Prideaux Place, one of Cornwall’s fine country houses.
